In 1995, Fiona Mordaunt began working for Rob Allsopp & Associates, a theatrical costume company specialising in body casting for the entertainment industry. While there, Fiona saw how body casts of actors were created. As Fiona continued with the company, she worked on an increasing number of well-known stage performances such as Jesus Christ Superstar, Beauty and the Beast, Starlight Express, and the opera, The Ring.
It was during her time at Rob Allsopp & Associates that Fiona learned about and developed a passion for the art of casting.
Increasingly, over time, Fiona was asked to take individual body casts that could be given as gifts for loved ones. With this in mind, in 1998, Fiona decided to open her very own face and body casting studio in Balham. This studio, which was open to the public, later became known as Image Casting.
Today, the Image Casting studio is based in London Bridge.
Over the years, Fiona’s realised that parents loved to commission casts of their baby’s hands and feet. In an effort to help capture the most precious years of parents’ lives, today, baby casting has become both Fiona’s specialty and her passion. After all, working with her smallest customers is the most rewarding.
Alison Fisher joined Image Casting at the beginning of 2009 after becoming friends with Fiona and seeing her business develop over several years.
After graduating with a BA (Hons) degree in Business Information Management, Alison spent time travelling around the world before settling in London and joining The Diamond Trading Company - the marketing arm of De Beers Group of companies. Over ten years she worked in many different areas of the business including marketing, business development, research and training but her passion became consumer insight and understanding the differing motivations of consumers across the globe.
Alison's passion and in-depth knowledge of diamonds has been hard to let go of so she remains involved in the industry through providing consultancy services and private diamond jewellery sales.
Alison was drawn to working with Fiona and becoming a Partner in the business when she saw the products and the passion that Fiona had for her art. The whole process - from taking a cast to seeing parents' reactions when they see the end product - is so worthwhile, and she is very excited about the potential for developing the business while keeping it personal and providing the high quality that customers have come to expect.
